ZACH HEUSSER

TEACHING PROFESSIONAL & CLUB FITTER

Zach Heusser is a distinguished master golf instructor with more than 25 years of experience helping players of all abilities succeed on and off the course. He has been recognized by Golf Digest as a “Top Teacher in California” from 2002 to 2026 and was named among the “Top 20 Teachers in America Under Age 40” from 2007 to 2010—honors that reflect his longstanding reputation for excellence.

Most recently, Zach served as Lead Instructor at Crystal Springs Golf Club in the San Francisco Bay Area (2005–2025), where his highly regarded summer camps became a launching pad for aspiring junior golfers. Many of his students have gone on to achieve success at competitive levels, earning victories in tournaments nationwide. His passion for player development also extended to the collegiate level, where he served as Head Men’s Golf Coach at NCAA Division II Notre Dame de Namur University (2013–2020).

A native of Lake Geneva, Zach’s roots in the game run deep. He began his career working at Hillmoor and Lake Lawn Lodge before going on to apprentice under legendary instructor Jim McLean at PGA West and Mariner’s Point (1999–2004), where he refined his teaching philosophy. As a collegiate athlete, Zach competed for the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse golf team, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to the game.

CLUB NOTES

HANDICAP POSTING SEASON

NOW - OCTOBER 31

Handicap posting season officially began Wednesday, April 1, and runs through October 31. All scores—both home and away—must be posted for every round played and entered on the same day.

If you played any winter golf in warmer climates, please be sure those scores are also posted to ensure your Handicap Index remains accurate.

For a quick refresher on the posting process, please watch the instructional video embedded below. If you have any questions, the Member Golf Staff is happy to assist.

Play

All GN Members are required to post scores hole-by-hole.

This is extremely important—not only does it ensure scores are calculated correctly for Equitable Stroke Control, but it also provides valuable data used to evaluate and refine hole handicap ratings. At the end of the season, this data is reviewed for potential course re-rating and adjustment of hole handicap allocations.

The more hole-by-hole data submitted, the more accurate these rankings become. Please note that holes have been re-ranked for the 2026 season based on 2025 data and are reflected on the new scorecards and within the GHIN posting system.
