TEAM GOLF SERIES

FOURTH AND FINAL EVENT

On Saturday, September 7, the 4th and final event of the SOWF GN Team Golf Series took place on the Palmer Course. Teams of four competed in a Net Team Total Stableford Point format, earning points for Net Double Eagles (8 points), Net Eagles (5 points), Net Birdies (3 points), Net Pars (1 point), Net Bogeys (0 points), and Net Double Bogeys (-1 point). Team "Exit Fifty-Eight," consisting of Brian & Barb Degnan along with Kurt & Sue Jensen, claimed the top spot in Event #4 with a team total of 87 points, securing an 8-point victory over "GN Warriors" comprised of Kevin McKillip, Dustin Noble, Ryan Denny, and David Krause.

In the series overall, Team "The Boys of Summer" emerged as the Champions, consisting of Jim Passi, James Matthews, Tom Baird, and Terry Periman and team manager Brian Kaminski, GN's Resort Head PGA Professional . Despite not performing as well in the final event, they accumulated 51 points overall, outdistancing second place Team "The DD's," who totaled 42.5 points. As a reward for their victory, The Boys of Summer won a trip to Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club in Florida during the off-season. The Team Series final point standings are listed below. CLOSING SCRAMBLE

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 | KICKS-OFF AT 7:30AM

This annual GN tradition begins with a breakfast buffet, featuring a Bloody Mary and Screwdriver Bar. There will be separate scramble events for both men and women. The golf scramble will conclude around 1:30pm, followed by an outdoor lunch to celebrate the season. The Club Championship and other year-end awards will be presented during the lunch.

SADIE HAWKINS TOURNAMENT

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13 | 9AM SHOTGUN

Partner up and hit the course for the gals-ask-guys Sadie Hawkins' tournament. Any female golf member may ask any male golf member. A pizza party meal will follow golf. Each team consists of one man and one women in a two-person scramble. Men will play the white tees and women will play the green tees. Spouses may not be on the same two person team but can play in the same foursome.

MEN'S LEGEND CUP

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

The Men’s Legends Cup (singles) ended on Wednesday, September 4 after a year of competition. Bob DeVorse played exceptionally well and emerged victorious over Tyler Cuculi with a score of 4 & 3 in the final match. We would like to thank all the participants, and the results along with the credit book winnings are provided below.

MIXED TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

The GN Mixed Team Championship took place on Sunday, September 8 on the Player Course. Members formed their own teams and competed in separate divisions comprised of either 2 Men & 1 Woman or 2 Women & 1 Man. The format played was 1 Net Best Ball on the Odd Holes and 2 Net Best Balls on the Even Holes. Thank you to all who participated. CLUB NOTES

MEMBER GUEST GOLF RATE

With the days getting shorter we will be adjusting the afternoon $32 member guest rate. Starting on September 1, the rate will be available after 2:30pm until September 30. From October 1 onwards, it will be available after 1:30pm. Guest rate valid on the Member Course only.

ACCOUNTING HAS MOVED

The Membership Accounting office has moved with the entire finance team across the lake to the Ridge Hotel. Should any questions or concerns come up with your statement, please do not hesitate to call or email Tim. If an in-person meeting is needed, Tim will arrange a time to meet with you in the Ridge lobby or in the new office area.
