PREMIER GUEST EVENT RESULTS

The Men’s Invitational, "THE PENTACLE," took place from Wednesday, July 17 to Friday, July 19 across all 3 GN courses. Sixty members invited a close friend or family member to compete for the championship in picture-perfect golf weather. The Culinary and Banquets Team provided spectacular food and beverage offerings, which received rave reviews from numerous members and guests, who called it the best Member/Guest event they have ever played.
The tournament consisted of five 9-hole matches within ten flights, with each flight winner, along with the wild card and practice round winners, qualifying for the final shootout. Twelve teams made it to the #16th tee on Palmer, where 6 teams were eliminated by closest to the pin shots. The remaining 6 closest teams then proceeded to #17 and played their own ball, with 3 teams eventually making it to the final hole, the challenging #18 for a sudden death round. The team of Member Mike Hobbs and his guest Brian Walter emerged as the champions, with Brian's excellent play on the final hole securing the victory. His 4 net 3 was the best score, edging out the 2nd place team of Member Mike Kuehn & Guest Matt Kuehn and the 3rd place team of Member Bryan Hollowell and his guest BJ Hollowell. THE TRIPLE CROWN
JULY 21-22
|
The GN Ladies Triple Crown took place on Sunday, July 21 and Monday, July 22. Thirty-six members invited a close friend or family member to compete for the title. The weather was absolutely gorgeous as the field competed in three different formats. Day one on the Palmer Course, the players participated in two different 9-hole formats. The front 9 was played in the shamble format, and the back 9 was played in the scramble format. Teams then added their day one scores to the second-day format on the Player Course of 2-person best ball. There are gross and net winners in each of the 4 divisions who qualified for the final sudden-death shootout.
The 8 qualifying teams made their way to #16 Player, and the team of Member Tonya Brown & Guest Elaine Wagner emerged as the winners. Tonya's excellent performance on the hole led to their victory. Her tee shot just landed at the end of the fairway, her iron shot struck crisply to 8 feet and then she rolled her putt with perfect line and speed and drained it dead center of the hole. This was Tonya and Elaine’s third victory in the event. Congratulations to all the flight winners listed below, and thank you to all who participated. We look forward to another fabulous Triple Crown in 2025.

GOING TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP
DREW RINGELSTETTER
|
On Monday, July 15, Drew Ringelstetter competed at Reedsburg Country Club to try to qualify for the PGA National Assistant Championship. Only two pros from the entire field can qualify for this Championship. Drew played 36 holes, shooting 71 in round 1 and 69 in round 2. He finished T1 in the event and qualified for the Championship in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The event is scheduled to take place from November 14-17.

Week seven of Men's and Ladies Weekend Golf took place on Saturday, July 20 on the Trevino Course. The men played the familiar game of "40 balls," while the ladies had the opportunity to play a practice round with their Triple Crown guest in the "Pick Your Poison" format. The winners and credit book winnings are listed below. We are excited for the eighth weekend golf day on Sunday, July 28. Thank you to all who participated.
