The first event in the Team Golf Series benefiting SOWF took place on Sunday, June 9 on the Trevino Course. It was a beautiful but breezy afternoon, which made for some great competition as 11 GN teams competed to get a good start and build up some points in the 4-event series. The teams of 4 were split into two 2-somes, and 1 Net Best Ball of each 2-person team was added together to determine the final team scores. The first-round scores and results, along with point standings, are listed below. We are looking forward to the next Team Golf Series on Sunday, July 14 on the Player Course.
The winning team of the series, consisting of 4 players, will receive a golf trip to Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Resort sponsored by GN. The trip includes airfare, 2 nights lodging, 36 holes of golf, and a Champions Dinner. The team will be accompanied by their GN Manager and 1 additional club official.

All first round matches were successfully scheduled and completed by the June 8 deadline. Congratulations to the winners, and a big thank you to everyone who took part. For those who won't be moving on to the second round, your participation is appreciated.
Please note that the deadline for the next round is Saturday, June 29. The remaining match deadlines will be shorter, with 3-week increments. We ask that you schedule and complete your matches by the approaching deadline, just as you did for the first round. No extensions will be granted.

Ryan Southworth returns to Destination GN for his second season. Originally from Rhode Island, he discovered at the age 10 the game of golf, which quickly became his life’s passion. He was a two-time first team all state golfer in high school and won the Club Championship at his home course at age 17. From there he launched his professional golf career.

A reminder that on Fridays and Saturdays between 8am and 12pm, members may not host guests on the course as these times are exclusively reserved for our members. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Please maintain a pace of play of 4 hours for 18 holes. The GPS pace of play tracking is set at 4 hours 20 minutes. To meet the 4-hour expectation, you will need to play the front 9 holes 10 minutes ahead of GPS pace and complete the full 18 holes 20 minutes ahead of GPS pace, even when playing with guests. Our professional staff will monitor the pace of play, and Members falling behind will be notified and expected to pick up the pace. If necessary, Members may have to skip a hole to get back on pace. Remember to play ready golf and keep pace with the group in front of you at all times.

The practice range tees close every Tuesday at 5:30 pm sharp so that the golf team can complete a clean pick, and the Grounds team can do a full mow early Wednesday morning. The practice range tees will reopen Wednesday morning around 6:00 am.
