It’s nice to have some cooler weather finally. As most of you know our rainfall for this season is well above normal and most of it comes in heavy downpours. These rains have shown areas on Palmer 1,2 & 6 that needed additional drainage. In the past week, we completed the addition of new drainage into areas that were holding water and currently, these areas are marked as ground under repair. We’re sure you have also noticed some decline in turf on our four new greens, holes 1, 2, 6 & 14. This has been due to recent high temperatures and extremely high humidity. Greens 6 and 14 are currently being mowed at a higher height. These two greens will be slower than the rest until we feel comfortable dropping the mowing height. We are also implementing other practices to help speed up the recovery in these areas. As the greens mature over time, they will be more likely to tolerate this type of stress. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work through these improvements.
