LETTER FROM JACKSON BELL

DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP

May 30, 2025

Dear Geneva National Members,

The summer season is officially here, and we’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to Lake Geneva for another exciting season at Geneva National. We are fortunate to have such a vibrant and diverse Membership made up of golfers, families, couples, corporate entertainers, social groups, longtime friends, and new faces alike. As we embark on another great season, the Member’s Club team would like to remind everyone of a few important Club rules and standards of decorum.

With such a wide-ranging Membership, fostering harmony and balance in our dynamic Club environment is one of our top priorities. No single group takes precedence. Instead, we all contribute to creating a space that is inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone. In that spirit, we would like to highlight a few guidelines specifically related to behavior and expectations in the Member Tap Room and other shared Club spaces.

As our younger family demographic continues to grow, we have expanded our offerings of family-friendly events and seen a record number of sign-ups for the junior golf programs. We are dedicated to encouraging juniors in their development into the game, and we have added extra emphasis on etiquette within our programs. We believe that this will help instill a lasting love for golf while fostering strong fundamentals in our next generation of players.

With this increase in family involvement, it becomes even more important to ensure our dining establishments maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for all members. Children must be supervised at all times, are expected to dress appropriately for an elevated establishment, and are not permitted to sit at the bar. If older children are looking to place food or beverage orders without an adult present, they must be seated at a table or work with our Member concierge to place an order.

Regarding overall decorum and dress, we have observed a recent decline in adherence to Club standards within our restaurants. With our multi-generational Membership, it is important that we all maintain a respectable volume, use language appropriate for all ages, and uphold a presentable appearance. Members are reminded that we adhere to Resort Casual dress in the Club; a collared shirt is required for men when dining or sitting at the bar, and hats must be removed when entering the Member Tap Room. Athleisure wear is acceptable for breakfast and lunch, but after 4:00pm, a higher standard or dress is required.

Regarding table reservations and dining in the Member Tap Room, we encourage all Members to make reservations in advance to help ensure smooth and efficient service from our bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff. Prioritizing reservations allows us to better manage daily operations and provide a great experience for all. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate Members without a reservation, even if a table is available, if the kitchen is unable to space out dining properly. Additionally, if a reservation is not on time, it may result in the loss of a table and could impact the ability to make future reservations.

Lastly, based on recent disregard for on-course etiquette and alcohol violations, we must address the issue of outside alcohol being brought onto the courses and Members stopping at private homes for food and beverages during rounds. These actions violate Club policies and, more seriously, state liquor laws, putting our liquor license at risk. Additionally, these interruptions negatively impact pace of play and show disregard to our beverage cart and halfway house staff. To ensure compliance and fairness, the Club is implementing a three-step penalty policy:

1. First Offense: 2-week suspension from golf courses
2. Second Offense: 1-month suspension from golf courses
3. Third Offense: Termination of Membership

Our Club thrives because of the Members who contribute positively to its atmosphere. These rules are intended to preserve the standards that make Geneva National such a special place to be a part of. We thank you for your cooperation, support, and ongoing commitment to the values that define our community.

Here’s to a fantastic season ahead,

Jackson Bell, Director of Membership
